The book deftly intertwines elements of sports romance and family drama as Alex and Amanda discover an inexorable attraction developing between them, despite the intricate dynamics of their families. The characters in the book are well done, with depth and multidimensionality, making them feel like real people one might encounter in the world. They are flawed, each with their own strengths and vulnerabilities. My personal favorite was Amanda; her character was very relatable.
